Norsk Medisinaldepot AS (NMD) is one of Norway’s biggest suppliers of parmaceuticals and health products, including both retail and wholesale distribution operations. NMD has ca 2 300 employees and a fully owned pharmacy chain, Vitus, with more than 270 pharmacy stores of different size all over Norway. There is also a franchise concept – Ditt Apotek – for independent privately owned pharmacies.

The headquarter and central warehouse location is in Alna, north of Oslo, while a large part of Northern Norway is served from the distribution center in Harstad. NMD uses the IMI WMS™ solution in both sites to enable high-performing warehouse production with very short lead times and rigid traceability requirements. The IMI solution is integrated with advanced picking automation and conveyor systems.

NMD is also a third-party logistics (3PL) service provider that enables many international producers of medicines and healthcare items to distribute their branded products in compliance with Norwegian market requirements. The multi-client support in IMI WMS™ makes it possible to tailor the services and warehouse processes to the needs of each 3PL client.
